The Snowflakes/Madwomen BagLunch Challenge/Swap

Done:Gameplan:  Sign-up by End of April, partners assigned

and everyone has their baglunch sent out by mid-May.  That will give all of June and July to make the project. All projects should be done and back to home to owner by Mid-August.

The Bag Lunch/Picnic

Step one:

Each person selects fabric to represent each component of their own "bag lunch".  If you choose a sandwich, piece of fruit, dessert, and a drink you'd have 4 FQs(or more)in your brown paper bag.

Example: PB&J Sandwich could be a Natural Muslin for the bread, a tan mottled or dot for the PB, and a rich marbled maroon for strawberry jam, Fruit Salad could be a multi pattern to  go with the colors, A rich brown for a Chocolate Brownie, and a soft Pink for a Strawberry Milkshake/or Raspberry Iced Tea.

Be creative, use your imagination.  Your fabric choices could ACTUALLY be what they represent. I've seen some really pretty fruits and chocolates out there.

Step two:

Jot down a note to your swap partner to let her know something about you. What you like to do besides quilt. This is also a getting to know you project!

You then bag up your lunch, along with a note explaining your choices and send them to your partner.  Please post on the mb when you send your brown-bag out so it can be watched for.

Step three:

You receive your partners lunch, her note explaining the lunch, and the note telling you something about her. You will then make something from the fabric. Either on the theme given or as you choose.  It could be a runner, picnic cloth, tote bag, wall hanging, small quilt etc, placemats, apron, sewing machine cover, etc.

Step four:

When done, you send the completed project, along with a note about why you made what you made, back from whence it came. Post on the mb when you mail the project back home so it can be watched for an anticipated!

Remember, we want to get to know each other, have fun, and do a swap/challenge.  If possible, please take a picture of the before and after so we can all share our experience and picnic together. If you send the pics to me, I will post them for all to view AFTER the swap is over.
