Recipe Number 1                Hanky Pankies

From: Bunnie                          Servings:

Ingredients:

Directions:

·         1 pound fresh ground pork sausage

In a large skillet, cook sausage over a medium heat until it is browned and cooked through. Stir onion, garlic powder, black pepper and processed cheese into the skillet. Stir until the cheese is melted and the ingredients are well combined. Spread 1 tablespoon of mixture onto each slice of cocktail rye. Back in oven on cookie sheet. Serve warm from oven.

·          3 tablespoons minced onions

·          ½ teaspoon garlic powder

·          ½ teaspoon ground pepper

·          1 cup processed cheese sauce

·          16 ounce cocktail rye bread

Recipe Number 2             Li’l Smokies

From: JudyOR                         Servings:

Ingredients:

Directions:

·

One package of Li'l Smokies
Sauce made of half Chili Sauce and half Orange Marmalade. (I've also heard of people using grape jelly and other flavors of Jelly, too, but the marmalade isn't so sweet and I like it.)

Mix chili sauce and marmalade together; then stir in Li'l Smokies. Cover lightly with waxed paper or plastic wrap that will go in the microwave and heat on high until they are as hot as you like. Serve with toothpicks!

Recipe Number 3                New Year’s Appetizers

From: QuiltsRFun                         Servings:

Ingredients:

Directions:

·

Town House crackers with peanut butter on them coated with almond bark. YUMYUM! I haven't tried them with the chocolate bark but I'm sure they're good too.

DH/kids like salsa with some Velveeta cheese mixed in (heat all until cheese is melted). Use as a dip for tortilla chips.

DD(6) likes popcorn chicken and dips them in Ranch dressing. Makes her happy, LOL.

I like the Lil' Smokies too but I just heat them to eat.

I like the broccoli, cauliflower and carrots dipped in vegetable dip.

Plain natural popcorn/no butter

Recipe Number 4            More New Year’s Appetizers

From: Spamby                         Servings:

Ingredients:

Directions:

·          2 packages cream cheese, softened

My DH's sister made something similar to this a few years back and we make it every year now. I made it a few hours ago so the flavors really get mixed together well so it will be super tasty when the time comes.

I'm not sure what to call it but I made it with 2 packages of cream cheese, softened so you can mix stuff into it, 2 packages of dried beef cut up into small pieces, just a little bit of very chopped up onion, maybe a scant tablespoon and a few dashes of Worcestershire sauce. Mix it all together and spread it on townhouse crackers. It's different but pretty tasty.

·          2 packages dried beef, cut up

·          Scant tablespoon chopped onion

·          Few dashes Worcestershire sauce

·          Townhouse crackers

Recipe Number 5            Meatballs

From:  JudyTX

Ingredients:

Directions:

·          Heinz Chili Sauce

This isn't really a "recipe", but I use my crock pot (once in a blue moon) for meat balls with a sauce of equal parts of Heinz Chili Sauce (white label on tall bottle-type jar) and plain ole grape jelly. I get bags of meat balls at Sam's, bake them on a cookie sheet, then mix the chili sauce and grape jelly together with a fork or whisk and put everything in the crock pot to stay warm.

There have been times when I could not find the Heinz Chili Sauce at the store and I have used Heinz 57 steak sauce. The Smith family in MO makes short lives of those meatballs when we get together. And even my son-in-law likes them!!!

Recipe Number 8                   No-Name Dip

From:  JudyTX

Ingredients:

Directions:

·          1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (I used sharp)

Another recipe for "Dec." This is for a dip/spread. Actually, it is too thin to make a good dip, but it is great on crackers or thinly sliced deli meats and rolled up. And, it doesn't have a name---it just came from the beauty shop.

Mix everything together and let it set overnight. Just before serving, spread a sm. jar of Smucker’s Strawberry Preserves over the top.

·          1 cup mayonnaise (and trust me, Hellman's works best)

·          1 cup finely chopped green onions, including the green tops

·          3/4 cup finely chopped pecans

Recipe Number 9            Cocktail Meatballs

From:  Crafty Cara

Ingredients:

Directions:

·          1 lb. ground beef

1. In a large bowl combine ground beef, bread crumbs, onion, milk, egg, salt, Worcestershire sauce and ground black pepper. Mix together and shape into meatballs.

2. In a large skillet heat shortening over medium heat. Add meatballs and cook until browned--about 5-7 mins. Remove from skillet and drain on paper towels.

3. Add chili sauce and grape jelly to skillet. Heat and continue stirring until jelly is melted. Return meatballs to skillet and stir until coated. Reduce heat to low. Simmer uncovered for 30 minutes.

·          1/2 cup dried bread crumbs

·          1/3 cup chopped onion

·          1/4 cup milk

·          1 egg

·          1 tsp. salt

·          1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

·          1/8 tsp. ground black pepper

·          1/4 cup shortening

·          12 oz. tomato-based chili sauce
