Our Charity Projects

In 2005, we found out about the need for quilts and/or blankets for Children’s Advocacy Center in Tyler, Texas.  This organization serves children who are involved with the court system due to severely adverse situations at home.  They are all ages—from infants to age 18.

This came about through the Woodmen of the World—an organization that JudyTX is a member of.  With their agreement and support, the Nimble Quilting Divas started making quilts to donate to CAC.  We donated 27 child-sized quilts in 2005.  During 2006 we donated 80 (EIGHTY) quilts!  Late in 2006, the CAC requested that we make a few larger quilts for the older children who pass through their doors.

Since our members are not only in the continental US—members in Canada and New Zealand select their own group or charity to donate their quilts to in order to fulfill our Guild obligations.  And QuiltBea in Maine has been making quilt tops for Quilts With Love for our service men and women serving abroad.
